Dear Younger Brittany

Dear my younger self,

It’s me, your older self, here to tell you things you need to know. Things that will help you become a better person. I know you’re feeling as if everything is falling apart and you’re wondering when you will receive your blessings. Don’t worry you do but you need to get up, dust yourself off, and know what’s going on now isn't permanent. They’re just experiences that will make you wise in the future. You are an intelligent and beautiful young lady and I know you don't see that yet but you will. You feel as if you want to curl up under your covers in the dark and stay there for eternity due to what you experienced with your exes and how you feel about yourself but I’m here to tell you that how your exes treated you DOES NOT define you...do you hear me? You are enough and you are worth it.

​If only you can see yourself right now. You’re passing your classes, fellowshipping at an amazing organization (The Dinnertable Doc), volunteering at your church, learning to love yourself, growing closer to God, and scoring your first job interview this year. Even though you were told you would never accomplish anything, went through physical and mental abuse from your exes, had people betray your trust, and failed a couple times, you didn't let that define you. You kept pushing yourself to be better. As you got older, you started to learn your worth. You still have your days where you feel that way but you’re stronger now because you know what blessings God has for you. You can’t stop now. You’re just getting started and the way you’re moving your future is only going to get brighter. You are loved by family and friends and when you feel unattractive or uninspired, just remember Proverbs 3:15 “She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.” and Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.” because what God has for you is for YOU.
