About Us
At The Dinner Table Doc, our unwavering mission is to empower and uplift young women of color by fostering their leadership skills, reinforcing self-identity, and nurturing their health and wellness. Through these vital frameworks, we strive to embolden these young women to seize their limitless potential, magnify their authentic voices, and confidently claim their prominent seat at every table.
We are a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization firmly rooted in the heart of New York City, working in close partnership with schools and community entities. Through our girl-centered transformative workshops and culturally affirming programming, we aim to cultivate not only college and career readiness but also a sense of self-assured purpose among the young women we serve. At The Dinner Table Doc, we believe that by instilling leadership, reinforcing identity, and promoting well-being, we can inspire a generation of young women of color to rise above adversity, excel in every facet of life, and become catalysts for positive change in their communities and beyond. |
Vision Statement:
Fostering the capacity to empower young Black and Brown women to make their own decisions about who they are and the life they want to have is central to The Dinner Table's work. We model exemplary practices and standards for the field that intentionally build communities for girls of color. Through our programming, girls establish a strong sense of self and the confidence to leverage their power to achieve post high school success. Additionally, they possess the necessary skills to make responsible decisions, navigate challenges, and set, monitor, complete goals and confidently express themselves in all areas of their life.

At The Dinner Table, our events are designed to empower and nurture young women of color in three core domains: Leadership, Self-Identity, and Health & Wellness. Through carefully crafted competencies and indicators, we guide our participants on a transformative journey of self-discovery and growth, equipping them with the skills and mindset needed to succeed in college, career, and life.
