The camp will help girls ages 10-18 further develop their leadership skills through innovative activities focused on Civic Engagement, Community Organizing. |
Community Organizing In this cohort scholars will learn to use organizational, event planning and problem solving skills to create and curate the final showcase "The Miseducation of Brown Girls Townhall" on August 3rd.

STUDENT TESTIMONIALS:
"In this camp I felt supported. In any project I took on or any idea I had, there was always someone to help develop the idea or someone to check in on my progress. This camp also made me feel empowered. The lessons that were taught throughout the program instilled a sense of pride in being a black girl and presented the idea that we can all make a difference. This was displayed intentionally through the lessons on Marley Dias and additional class at the women’s conference, as well as unintentionally, through the teachers and leaders such as Ms. Asha, showing her dedication to her organization and building it up to the caliber it is to this day."

In this camp I felt overall happy and blessed to have an opportunity like this. At the beginning of the summer, I was upset because I wasn’t going to do anything, and when I heard about this program I was super excited. The program was way better than I expected and I’m so glad that I was chosen to participate because it was what changed my summer around for the better. I want to give thanks to the creator of this program, every staff/leader, and all the girls that participated, for bringing more joy to my summer. And I can’t wait to participate in more Dinner Table Doc camps like this.
