The Dinner Table Doc is committed to encouraging, uplifting, and inspiring young women of color. We do so by nurturing their leadership skills, reinforcing their self-identity, and fostering their health and wellness to empower their fullest potential, share their truth, and create a seat for themselves at any table.
What's Our Impact? We proudly serve the inspiring young women of color ages 10-18 within our community. We work with local schools and community organizations to provide college and career readiness through our girl-centered transformative workshops and culturally-affirming programming. |

Why We Focus on Young Women of Color?

53% of African American girls surveyed expressed a desire to be leaders as compared to 50 percent of Hispanic girls and 34 percent of Caucasian girls. Yet opportunities for leadership are scarce. READY TO LEAD a 2020 report by Girls Leadership states, “Over 1 in 3 Black teachers noted that at their schools, students of color experienced bias and unfair treatment in the form of not having the same opportunity to get leadership roles [and] teachers [had] lower expectations for students of color compared to White students.” |
For young women who don’t have access to resources we provide hands on career exploration opportunities as well as innovative ways to bridge the gap between working professionals and students.
