Hotcombs N Sunday Dinners is passionately and purposely designed to make a difference in the lives of young people, ages 11 to 18 and a unique way of building better communities. We host the dinner in celebration and recognition of generations of women that strive to empower and inspire each other across the welcoming setting of the dinner table. Event attendees are students participating in the fall semester of The Dinner Table's Beyond The Table programming. Beyond The Table is The Dinner Table's workshop program that helps students further develop their leadership, public speaking and goal setting skills.
The Food"My experience at the Dinner Table Documentary was fun. The way the place was set up, was beautiful. The food was so delicious. It was full of flavor and just amazing."

The Mentorship It was very inspiring to be around so many beautiful young black working women who have their lives on track. Even though I cried at first (lol) it was fun to be able to put my phone down and just connect with other people. They gave me some advice on high school and a couple cheat codes to make it through and it definitely opened my eyes to what's going on around me aside from what's going on, on TV.

The SisterhoodMy whole life I've always had encouraging people around me who always admired me, and after leaving the event I felt empowered really empowered; the kind you only get after being surrounded by smart influential women who only want to be successful and won't back down.

The Dinner Table provides a safe space for young women of color to share their truth and develop leadership skills through a unique peer to peer mentorship model. While attending Dinner Table events students also have the opportunity to meet real life role models and create tangible action plans to ensure college and career success.
We're currently raising funds to help us support our programming for 2021. In the six years that we've existed as an organization we have never had the privilege of receiving a grant or acquiring a large donation to cover the cost of our programming.
